Antonio Gaudí i Cornet

(1852-1926)

Foto de Antonio Gaudí i CornetThe Catalan architect was born Antoni Gaudí i Cornet on the 25 June 1852, in the Catalonian city of Reus, located to the south of the city of Barcelona. His father was a coppersmith, this fact must to have some influence in his career. After his primary school  he was sent to Barcelona to complete his secondary education. Also in Barcelona he attended the Escola d'Arquitectura.

I have taken photographs of some of the places that I have visited.  Please forgive me for the time some of these panoramic pictures may take to download, but to try to preserve the photographic quality some have been compressed very little. I am sure that the waiting is well worth it.

Panoramas (11) The hyperlink to these places are colored blue, please feel free to wonder at the genius of such a man.

La Sagrada Familia. Gaudí's unique architectural style is know through out the world, specially his life master piece, the church of  La Sagrada Familia, symbol of the capital of Cataluña, Barcelona, Spain.

Gaudí is also the architect of such wonders as Park Guell, this Park has been included by UNESCO in the World Art Heritage List.

Immediately after you pass the Entrance  to the park, in front you can see a split staircase. Prior to ascending , to the right of  the stairway there is an area like a grotto, I have called this area The Cone.

At the front of the split staircase there is a small pond, you can admired its intricate design. As you ascend the stairs you will come to a Fountain which is another of Gaudi's masterpiece it is The Lizard, this sculpture has become the symbol of the Park.

The staircase continues up leading you to the Hall of the Hundred Columns as well as the Plateau a terrace area located above the Hall of the Hundred Columns, from here you can admire a view of the city.

The Roof.

Casa Milá

Casa Milá or better known as La Pedrera, is located in Paseo de Gracia street. This house was designed for the Mila family and I have taken a panoramic view of the roof.
